More than 2,875 Emirati women obtained new business licences in Abu Dhabi during the first half of 2025, underscoring their growing role in the national economy and the emirate’s efforts to encourage female entrepreneurship.
The figures were released by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) and highlight strong momentum in creative and home-based ventures. Licences for home-based businesses made up 47% of the total, while those for e-commerce and individual projects added 30%, highlighting the growing role of women in the digital economy.
The surge demonstrates Abu Dhabi’s continued success in empowering women entrepreneurs and strengthening the emirate’s position as a centre of innovation.
