The World Economic Forum has formalised plans to establish three new Centres for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in 2025. In a major development for the GCC region, two of the cities will be Riyadh and Muscat with the third in Pretoria, South Africa. Each of them will develop innovative, locally relevant strategies to address pressing global issues.
The centres are dedicated to accelerating the integration of cutting-edge technologies to solve complex societal challenges. These hubs focus on areas such as AI, blockchain, data governance, and IoT, boosting collaboration among businesses and governments.
This development coincides with the publication of the Forum’s 2023–2024 C4IR Network Impact Report, which highlights how the global network continues to pioneer technological solutions to some of humanity’s most pressing challenges.
