UAE Cyber Security Council stops attack

The UAE Cyber Security Council has announced the successful prevention of ransomware attacks targeting key sectors in both public and private entities. These attacks, designed to breach data and disrupt digital systems, were detected and neutralised by the nation’s cybersecurity infrastructure.

In collaboration with a number of authorities, the Council intercepted approximately 200,000 daily cyber threats, identifying the origins of the attacks and effectively countering them. Many of the attempts employed AI, including deepfake and social engineering technologies, marking a shift towards more complex and harder-to-detect threats.

The Council emphasised the need for strict adherence to cybersecurity standards across all sectors. With traditional phishing attacks persisting and AI-driven threats on the rise, organisations must adopt cutting-edge technologies to safeguard their digital infrastructure.
