Emirates carried more than 8.7 million passengers across July and August 2026, with seat capacity restored to 93% by the end of the summer period and approximately 98% of its global route network back in active service.
The recovery marks a substantial rebound from earlier disruption caused by regional airspace restrictions following the Iran conflict in early 2026, which forced the carrier to temporarily scale back operations across multiple continents.
Fleet modernisation has continued in parallel, with 17 new aircraft delivered since January, including 10 Airbus A350s and seven Boeing 777s. Emirates' swift operational restoration has been attributed in part to the integrated structure of Dubai's aviation ecosystem, which brings airport management, air navigation, and government oversight under a unified chain of command. Long-term expansion plans remain intact, with the carrier holding orders for more than 340 aircraft and Dubai's new mega-hub airport on track for a December 2032 opening.
