UAE climbs to world’s second-largest crypto hub with perfect tax score

The UAE has vaulted from fifth to second place in the Henley & Partners Crypto Adoption Index 2026, cementing its position as a leading global destination for digital asset investors.

Drawing on more than 900 data points across 36 countries, the index benchmarks regulatory, tax, infrastructure, innovation, and adoption environments. The UAE scored 46.4 out of 60 overall, securing a perfect 10 out of 10 for tax attractiveness – the highest of any country in that category – underpinned by zero taxes on crypto trading, staking, and mining. In the innovation and technology pillar, the UAE ranked second globally with 8.9 out of 10. Singapore retained the top spot for the fourth consecutive year, while Hong Kong placed third and the US fourth.

Separately, the UAE recorded a Wealth Mobility Competitiveness Score of 85.3 out of 100 in Henley's Global Wealth Mobility Framework, ahead of Singapore at 79.5 and New Zealand at 75.8.
