New opportunity for Abu Dhabi social tech startups

Abu Dhabi’s global tech ecosystem Hub71 has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the emirate’s Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an as a way of helping accelerate social tech entrepreneurship and bringing lasting social impact to the emirate.

The Authority was founded in 2019 and is Abu Dhabi’s dedicated platform for addressing social priorities, connecting the government, private sector and wider community to build a vibrant and inclusive society. It drives initiatives that enhance quality of life and community well-being and will provide resources, mentorship, and Abu Dhabi’s first governmental Social Certificate to recognise startups creating sustainable social solutions. Hub71’s program meanwhile provides both in-kind and cash incentives, as well as access to a vast network of corporate, government and investment partners.

The Authority and Hub71 will also collaborate on reports mapping Abu Dhabi’s social tech landscape, spotlighting key players, funding opportunities, and regulatory frameworks. These insights aim to strengthen the emirate’s reputation as a hub for innovation that has real social impact.
