Miral has announced an investment of more than AED 12 billion in Yas Island across the next five years, earmarking funds for new rides and immersive experiences, expansion of existing theme parks, and a significant increase in hotel room capacity.
The Abu Dhabi-based developer said the programme covers further development of the island's leisure, entertainment, and hospitality offering, with specific project details and room numbers yet to be disclosed.
Miral confirmed the spending is entirely separate from the previously announced Disney development on Yas Island, which remains a distinct initiative. The investment is also expected to generate employment and support skills development across Abu Dhabi's tourism sector. The announcement signals a major phase of growth for one of the region's most visited entertainment destinations, reinforcing Abu Dhabi's strategy of expanding its tourism infrastructure and visitor economy ahead of accelerating competition from neighbouring emirates and regional markets.
