Alba joins forces with Bahraini entrepreneurs

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the world’s largest single-site aluminium smelter, will co-fund and collaborate with selected startups and SMEs to implement proof-of-concept projects. Alba’s participation marks a significant step towards driving innovation and economic growth in Bahrain’s industrial sector while also enhancing the competitiveness of Bahraini talent in the private sector.

Alba will do this through Tamkeen’s Open Innovation Program, managed by Brinc MENA. The initiative connects leading enterprises with Bahraini startups and SMEs to develop innovative solutions that address industry challenges, enhance efficiency, and promote sustainability.

A joint committee of representatives from Tamkeen, Brinc, and Alba will oversee the selection process with key areas of focus likely to be AI for predictive maintenance and IoT sensors for real-time monitoring.

Startups and SMEs based in Bahrain with innovative solutions for the industrial sector are encouraged to apply by visiting the program’s website.
