Dubai Municipality has launched a AED 150 million initiative to install electric vehicle supercharging stations across 600 parking spaces in public parks, beaches and recreational facilities, in partnership with Emarat EV Charging Stations Company (UAEV).
The first phase will see 75 supercharging stations deployed across 150 parking bays within two years, prioritising major destination parks, neighbourhood parks and public beaches for broad geographic coverage.
The project aligns with the Greenery and Parks Strategy 2040 and Dubai Economic Agenda D33, embedding EV infrastructure into high-footfall public spaces to improve accessibility to clean transport. It also supports the UAE's target of increasing electric vehicle adoption to 50 percent of the total vehicle fleet by 2050 and contributes to the UAE Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative.
