Qatar to launch 10-year residency programme for entrepreneurs and executives

Qatar will introduce a 10-year residency programme aimed at entrepreneurs and senior executives, as part of broader efforts to attract global talent and investment. The initiative was announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

The move aligns Qatar with regional peers that have rolled out long-term residency schemes to strengthen their competitiveness and support economic diversification. Alongside the residency programme, the Qatar Investment Authority will expand its venture capital commitments by $2 billion.

The additional funding will be directed to the Fund of Funds initiative, which was established to attract global venture capital firms, deepen the local startup ecosystem and support entrepreneurship as Qatar continues to diversify its economy beyond gas revenues.
