US, Qatar sign $200bn Boeing deal

US President Donald Trump and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim signed several major agreements this week, covering aviation and defense co-operation.

Among those was Qatar Airways which placed an order for 160 Boeing aircraft worth over $200bn, which President Trump described as the company’s largest-ever deal.

The two nations also signed a letter of intent on defense collaboration and finalised a deal for unmanned aerial vehicles. According to the White House, the total economic exchange from the agreements could exceed $1.2tr.
