UAE-US strategic partnership strengthens

The UAE and the US continued to deepen their five-decade-long strategic partnership during an official visit to the US by HH Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser.

The visit underscored ongoing efforts to strengthen ties and advance shared interests in a relationship marked by cooperation in security, economic growth, and technological innovation.

Trade between the two nations remains strong. The bilateral trade volume (excluding oil) is nearly $40bn, while merchandise trade rose to $34.43bn in 2024. Meanwhile, UAE investments in the US totalled $3.7bn between 2018 and 2023, while US investments in the UAE reached $9.5bn.

The UAE and the US have built a strong framework for sustained economic cooperation and partnerships in cutting-edge fields such as AI, food security, clean energy, and space exploration, boosting innovation and long-term growth.
