UAE partners in $220m solar energy complex

UAE-based Global South Utilities (GSU) has partnered with Egypt’s AH Industrial Management, China’s JA Solar and Bahrain’s Infinity Capital to launch a $220m solar energy industrial complex in the Egyptian town of Ain Sokhna.

The Atum Solar Egypt project will span 200,000 sq metres and feature two factories. The development is positioned to become one of the region’s largest renewable energy manufacturing hubs, reinforcing efforts to expand sustainable power production across the Middle East and Africa.

Construction and implementation are expected to take up to three years, with the project set to generate over 800 direct jobs.
