UAE Central Bank unveils world’s first sovereign financial cloud

The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) has partnered with Core42 to launch what it calls the world’s first Sovereign Financial Cloud Services Infrastructure (SFCSI), a dedicated, AI-powered cloud ecosystem for the financial sector.

The platform will operate on a centralised, fully isolated infrastructure to ensure data sovereignty, cyber resilience and uninterrupted access to critical financial services. It forms part of the CBUAE’s broader Financial Infrastructure Transformation programme.

Designed as an AI-driven, multi-cloud framework, the system will enable intelligent automation, real-time analytics and unified service management for licensed financial institutions.

Officials said the initiative strengthens regulatory oversight, enhances operational agility and reinforces the UAE’s ambition to position itself as a secure, innovation-led global financial hub.
