Retal signs USD 800m deal for Oman’s Sultan Haitham City

Retal Urban Development Company has signed a USD 800 million agreement with Omani authorities to develop three neighbourhoods within Sultan Haitham City, the sultanate’s largest urban development project.

The deal covers Neighbourhoods 3, 15 and 17, spanning more than 1.39 million square metres, with delivery planned in phases in line with the city’s long-term masterplan. The agreement marks one of the most significant real estate commitments following MIPIM 2026.

The investment reinforces regional developer interest in Oman’s Future Cities Programme, which aims to attract international partnerships and deliver large-scale, sustainable urban communities.

Officials said the agreement reflects growing confidence in Oman’s development pipeline, supported by government backing, delivery certainty and long-term economic planning. Additional agreements in healthcare infrastructure were also signed alongside the Retal deal, further strengthening the programme’s integrated development strategy.
