Mubadala lifts Aldar stake to 28% through open-market purchases

Mubadala Investment Company has raised its shareholding in Aldar Properties from 27.01% to 28.03% through the acquisition of approximately 78.6 million additional shares via its subsidiary Mamoura Diversified Global, according to a filing with the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange.

The purchases were made through Mubadala's trading account between 8 May and 11 August 2026 and are independent of any corporate actions by Aldar. The move deepens an already substantial strategic relationship between the two entities, which have previously partnered on an AED 10 billion retail platform and an AED 60 billion expansion of Abu Dhabi's financial district on Al Maryah Island.

Aldar reported a 10% year-on-year rise in Q2 net profit to AED 2.16 billion on revenue of AED 8.1 billion, though domestic sales declined 43% in the quarter as the company adopted a cautious launch stance. International momentum was notably stronger, with sales in Egypt and London surging 171% and 236% respectively in H1 2026, as Aldar pursues expansion across the luxury and middle-income segments beyond the UAE.
