Dubai’s Jebel Ali Port set a major milestone in October 2025, handling a record 630,000 tons of breakbulk cargo. This was the highest monthly volume in almost twenty years.
The spike was driven largely by rising imports of iron and steel for major national projects, including the Dubai Metro Blue Line and the Dubai World Central airport expansion. Growing sugar exports also contributed to the strong performance.
The surge underscores the UAE’s expanding industrial base and the port’s evolution into one of the world’s most advanced logistics hubs and a critical gateway for global trade.
