FTA urges businesses to file corporate tax returns before September 30 deadline

The UAE's Federal Tax Authority has called on businesses with financial years ending December 31, 2025, to submit their Corporate Tax returns and settle any amounts due before September 30, 2026, to avoid administrative penalties.

The reminder came at the Tax Agents Forum 2026, where the FTA Director General Abdulaziz Al Mulla urged Tax Agents to support clients in meeting their obligations across Corporate Tax, VAT, Excise Tax and electronic invoicing.

On e-invoicing, the FTA confirmed that businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more must appoint an Accredited Service Provider by October 30, 2026, and implement the Electronic Invoicing System by January 1, 2027. Smaller businesses below the AED 50 million threshold face a March 31, 2027, deadline to appoint a provider and must go live by July 1, 2027. Tax Agents were also urged to assist clients subject to Pillar Two rules with registration and disclosure requirements.
