Flydubai marks 17 years with 137m passengers and 140-destination network

Flydubai has reached a significant milestone since launching in June 2009, having transported more than 137 million passengers and grown its route network to over 140 destinations across 58 countries.

The carrier operated approximately 126,604 flights in 2025, took delivery of 12 new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft to bring its fleet to 97 planes with an average age of 5.5 years, and announced orders at the Dubai Airshow for 150 Airbus A321neo and 75 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft – a move that will diversify its single-aisle fleet.

The airline expanded its connectivity partnerships to more than 42 agreements, including new codeshare deals with Air Canada, Emirates, and United Airlines, giving customers access to over 300 destinations across combined networks. Its workforce grew 11% to 6,763 employees, and the carrier launched both a beginner pilot training programme and a vocational course in aircraft maintenance and engineering.
