FedEx supercharges e-commerce in UAE and KSA

FedEx has introduced its FedEx International Connect Plus (FICP) service in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, a move set to enhance the region’s e-commerce sector. Designed for e-commerce packages weighing up to 20 kg, FICP aims to empower regional e-tailers by offering a balance of speed and affordability.

This launch aligns with the rapid growth of the e-commerce market in the Middle East. According to a Deloitte report, the sector is forecast to expand from $39bn in 2023 to $50bn in 2025. The COVID-19 pandemic played a pivotal role in accelerating this shift, with consumers increasingly relying on online platforms for their shopping needs during periods of restricted movement.

For businesses in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, the introduction of FICP represents a significant opportunity. The service addresses a key challenge faced by regional e-tailers—providing fast, reliable, and cost-effective international shipping options.
