Emirates NBD has entered a strategic partnership with the Dubai Future District Fund (DFDF) to source, pilot and potentially commercialise AI and FinTech solutions developed by startups within the fund's portfolio.
The collaboration will give the bank access to enterprise-grade technologies targeting fraud detection, SME banking, wealth management and digital onboarding, with successful pilots carrying the possibility of full commercial deployment within Emirates NBD's ecosystem. DFDF – Dubai's AED 1 billion evergreen venture capital fund of funds, anchored by DIFC and the Dubai Future Foundation – will in turn provide its portfolio companies with a direct route to scale inside one of the region's largest banking groups.
The partnership is framed against a rapidly expanding UAE FinTech market, projected to nearly double from AED 11.61 billion in 2024 to AED 20.97 billion by 2029. For DFDF startups, the arrangement offers pilot access, structured partnership pathways and the prospect of commercial agreements tied to proven performance.
