Dubai now ranks among the top five cities worldwide for fintech thanks to its rapid transformation driven by the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) over the past two decades. The city was also classified as one of just eight global leaders with ‘broad and deep’ capabilities across all finance industry sectors.
The research comes from the latest Global Financial Center Index (GFCI) that assessed 119 financial centres based on feedback from nearly 5,000 professionals and over 31,000 financial centre evaluations.
Dubai ranked first as the financial centre expected to gain the most significance in the coming years and it remains the only financial city in the region to feature in the top 15 across multiple competitiveness categories: 9th in infrastructure, 10th in business environment, 11th in reputation, and 12th in human capital.
The city’s overall standing also advanced to 12th place, solidifying its position as a leading global financial hub.
