Dubai's diamond trade reached a record AED 153.1 billion in 2025, surpassing the previous peak of AED 150.2 billion set in 2011, according to data from the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) and Dubai Customs.
The emirate simultaneously broke the volume record, with 359.5 million carats traded – growth of 42.5% year-on-year – marking the first time Dubai has achieved simultaneous highs in both value and volume. Total diamond trade value climbed 16.2% from AED 131.4 billion in 2024, adding AED 21.3 – the second-highest ever recorded. Polished natural diamond trade rose nearly 25% to AED 68.6 billion, while the coloured gemstone sector reached a record AED 4 billion, up 48%. Laboratory-grown diamonds now account for approximately 39% of total carat volume.
Since 2020, the value of Dubai's diamond trade has surged 139%, with polished natural diamond values alone rising 246%, cementing the emirate's standing as a premier global gemstone trading hub.
