Dubai Aerospace to acquire Macquarie AirFinance in USD 7bn deal

Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) has agreed to acquire Macquarie AirFinance from Australia’s Macquarie Group for an enterprise value of USD 7 billion.

The combined platform will manage a fleet of 1,029 owned, managed and committed aircraft, serving 191 airline customers across 79 countries. Narrowbody aircraft will represent nearly 70% of the fleet, reinforcing DAE’s focus on high-demand single-aisle assets.

The acquisition adds 37 new airline customers, including carriers in seven additional countries. The transaction will be financed through a mix of debt and equity.

DAE CEO Firoz Tarapore said the deal strengthens scale, diversification and capitalisation, positioning the company to deliver competitively priced leasing solutions to a broader global customer base.
