WeRide and Uber have launched commercial operations for their Level 4 fully driverless Robotaxi service in Abu Dhabi.
This is the first deployment of autonomous taxis in the Middle East and the first city outside the US to offer fully driverless rides on the Uber platform. The launch is supported by the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) and fleet operator Tawasul.
The move underscores Abu Dhabi’s readiness to integrate advanced self-driving technologies into its transport network and is expected to pave the way for wider expansion across the emirate.
