Disney to open Abu Dhabi theme park

The Walt Disney Company is set to launch a new theme park resort in Abu Dhabi, marking its first venture in the region and its seventh global destination. The announcement follows an agreement with Miral, the developer behind many of Yas Island’s landmark attractions.

Situated on the Yas Island waterfront, the new resort will join a world-class entertainment hub that already attracts millions of visitors annually.

While Disney will oversee the creative direction, attraction design, and operational standards, the full development and construction will be led by Miral. Once complete, the Abu Dhabi-based company will also manage the park, leveraging its expertise in delivering major leisure destinations in collaboration with international partners.

The project represents a significant milestone in Abu Dhabi’s tourism strategy and underscores Disney’s global expansion into high-growth markets.
