Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed has approved a Dh500 million master plan to redevelop Umm Suqeim Beach, reinforcing Dubai’s ambition to enhance public spaces and strengthen its appeal as a global tourism destination.
The project will expand the beachfront by 30 percent across 445,000 square metres and extend over 3km, creating capacity for up to six million visitors annually. Planned upgrades include night-swimming facilities supported by new lighting, a 200 percent increase in parking to around 2,400 spaces, and improved road access from Jumeirah Street.
A 38-metre observation tower inspired by maritime heritage will anchor the development, while sustainability measures such as raised beach levels and a 2km retaining wall will support long-term coastal resilience. The beach is already renowned for its views of the Burj Al Arab.
