Could Al Ajban Solar Plant become world’s largest?

As part of the UAE Energy Strategy 2050, Al Ajban is poised to become one of the world’s largest single-site solar facilities, a major part of the UAE’s push towards zero-emission clean energy.

In a new deal betweenArctech – a global provider of solar tracking and racking solutions – and the construction group PowerChina, Arctech will deliver a 1.5GW order of its 1P single-axis solar tracking system SkyLine II as part of the Al Ajban project.

Al Ajban Solar Plant is located to the northeast of Abu Dhabi city and is projected to produce renewable electricity sufficient to meet the energy needs of around 160,000 households. It is anticipated to cut Abu Dhabi’s carbon emissions by 2.4 million tonnes annually, playing a crucial role in promoting sustainable development and driving the region’s shift towards clean energy.
