Abu Dhabi International Arbitration Centre (arbitrateAD) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Abu Dhabi Family Business Council to enhance governance standards and long-term sustainability for family-owned enterprises across the UAE.
The agreement establishes a strategic partnership focused on embedding robust corporate governance practices and promoting structured dispute resolution mechanisms, including mediation, arbitration and adjudicator appointment. Officials said the initiative aims to safeguard commercial and family relationships while supporting smooth generational transitions.
As part of its broader mandate, arbitrateAD also launched new Mediation Rules and Adjudicator Appointment Rules to provide faster, more flexible dispute-resolution pathways. The collaboration reinforces Abu Dhabi’s position as a regional hub for commercial dispute resolution and strengthens institutional support for family businesses.
