Abu Dhabi developer Aldar Properties has recorded AED 1.5 billion in sales from the launch of The Canopies, a six-building apartment community within Yas Point, its new waterfront masterplan on the northern shore of Yas Island.
First-time Aldar buyers accounted for 84% of purchasers, drawn by the development's waterfront setting, park-centred design, and proximity to Yas Island's entertainment and leisure infrastructure. UAE nationals represented 40% of buyers, with expatriate residents and overseas purchasers making up the remaining 60%; buyers from the UK, India, and Egypt ranked among the highest by sales volume.
Female buyers accounted for 32% of sales, while 47% of all purchasers were under 45. The Canopies is the first residential release within the Yas Point masterplan, and Aldar has confirmed further homes within the development will be brought to market in H2 2026, continuing what the company described as sustained demand momentum across Abu Dhabi's residential sector.
