ADQ and the Gates Foundation have announced a four-year partnership to support the expansion of AI and education technology across sub-Saharan Africa, with a combined commitment of $40m.
The initiative will be delivered through the EdTech and AI Fund, a new multi-investor vehicle expected to launch next year.
The fund will focus on scaling proven education technology and AI-based interventions at a national level, targeting improvements in foundational learning outcomes. ADQ will contribute up to $20m, with the remainder provided by the Gates Foundation.
