The United Arab Emirates and Greece announced 18 memoranda of understanding, agreements and commercial partnerships worth AED 52.39bn on Thursday, at the UAE-Greece Strategic Forum in Athens. Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis attended the forum, according to the Abu Dhabi Media Office.
Separately, Abu Dhabi said it plans to invest a further AED 61.64 billion in Greece, adding to the AED 16.44 billion committed under a joint investment initiative in 2022, though it did not disclose specific investments.
The two leaders also discussed expanded cooperation in energy, infrastructure and healthcare. The announcement follows Masdar’s full acquisition of Greek renewable energy firm Terna Energy, after it bought a 70% stake in 2024 at an enterprise value of AED 13.15 billion.
