Abu Dhabi Pension Fund pays AED 4.08bn in insurance benefits in H1 2026

The Abu Dhabi Pension Fund disbursed AED 4.083 billion in total insurance benefits during the first half of 2026, a 20% increase from AED 3.404 billion in the same period of 2025, underscoring the fund's expanding role as a pillar of social protection in the emirate.

Pension payments accounted for the largest share at AED 3.301 billion, benefiting approximately 27,982 retirees and beneficiaries entitled to shares of pensions from deceased retirees, while end-of-service benefits reached AED 344 million and other pension benefits totalled AED 439 million.

The period saw 1,149 new retirees join the system (a 17% year-on-year increase), reflecting sustained growth in the number of insured citizens registered with the fund. The fund attributed its operational efficiency to ongoing investment in digital solutions, electronic integration with government entities, and process development.
