Saudi Arabia and Bahrain launch new maritime link via MSC Gulf Shuttle

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has launched a direct maritime service between King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam and Khalifa Bin Salman Port in Bahrain, operated by MSC under its Gulf Shuttle service. The route carries a capacity of up to 3,000 standard containers.

The link is designed to strengthen Saudi Arabia's position as a regional logistics hub, improve access to the Bahraini market and drive greater efficiency across port operations and cargo movement.

The launch forms part of a broader regional push to deepen trade connectivity across the Gulf. Mawani recently partnered with Gulftainer on a Sharjah–Dammam trade bridge, while Dubai Customs activated a Green Corridor with Oman to streamline sea and air cargo flows – collectively reinforcing GCC ambitions to build faster, more resilient cross-border supply chains.
