Mwani Qatar and Saudi Mawani sign MoU to boost maritime cooperation

Mwani Qatar and Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) have signed a wide-ranging Memorandum of Understanding to deepen collaboration across maritime transport, logistics, digital systems and investment. The agreement establishes a formal framework for institutional cooperation, knowledge exchange and joint commercial initiatives between the two countries.

The partnership aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030 and Saudi Vision 2030, with a focus on enhancing port efficiency, strengthening cross-border connectivity and developing integrated logistics corridors across the Gulf. Key areas include digital innovation, unified maritime platforms, sustainability initiatives and coordinated engagement in international maritime forums.

Officials said the agreement reinforces the strategic role of ports in economic diversification and regional trade integration, while opening new avenues for private sector participation and infrastructure investment.
